紐西蘭首都威靈頓（Wellington）近日遭暴雨襲擊，造成當地發生洪水、土石流等嚴重災情，官方緊急呼籲低窪地區的居民撤離；當局預估，時雨量超過77毫米，創該市有史以來的最大降雨量，因災情嚴重，已宣布進入緊急狀態。
綜合外媒報導，威靈頓於當地時間4月17日起，就開始降雨，但接連降雨，導致市中心商業區和郊區發生洪水、山崩，多處傳出嚴重災情，甚至在一個晚上，接獲150通求救電話。

威靈頓市更測得時雨量超過77毫米，創該市有史以來的最大降雨量，不少媒體、社群揭露各地災情，目前官方已宣布進入緊急狀態，紐西蘭氣象預報機構MetService警告稱，20日降雨可能會加劇，同時呼籲低窪地區約52.1萬的居民撤離。
