法隆市居民恩羅（Trina Enloe）在地震發生時，正陪女兒在家裡餐廳做功課。她說，地震波抵達前，就已聽到隆隆聲，搖晃持續約1分鐘，把一些鑄鐵燭台震倒了，但家中沒有看到裂縫或其他損壞情形。
美國地質調查所指出，鄰近社區部分居民回報震感強烈，乃至極其強烈，並傳出輕微到中度的災損。
